    Weird bolt face size?

My rifle is a 110 long action chambered in 7mm Rem Mag right now. It is from the early to mid 90s Id guess with the 3-screw trigger. I would like to get a .308 bolt face so I can shoot with my buddy because he gets 308 ammo for dirt cheap. The problem is looking on PTG's website is that they dont have a bolt face to fit my rifle. The lug size on mine is .442" which is only listed for SA with 1.000" shank length. My shank length is the LA 1.125" length. And all of their LA bolt faces with the right shank length have a lug size of .500".

So are there any bolt faces out there to fit mine? Or could I buy a SA .308 bolt face and would it be possible to make a spacer that is .464" diameter(my shank diameter) that is .125" thick to make up the difference with a .150" hole drilled in it to let the firing pin pass through? Or will the hole not line up for the pin that holds the bolt face onto the bolt?

Also, Is it possible to switch from the old flat head bolt on the back of the bolt to the newer hex screw style or will they not interchange?

    To this

Have you tried measuring the lugs the other way (front to back)? The way you are measuring the lug in your photo will be the same for all bolt heads as you're effectively measuring the height of the lug which is relative to the raceway in the action, and the raceway is the same size in all Savage actions.

Wow. I feel really dumb now. My "correct" lug size measurement is .498". Guess Ill go on and order one then. So all I'll need is the bolt face, barrel and go/nogo gauges? I already have a single shot follower for the magazine.

So is it possible to switch out the flat head bolt for a hex bolt? Or is there some dimensional differences between them?
