  1. Notice: Effective 8/30/2025 I will be shutting down this site. After 24 years of operation the time has come. This is a decision I have been facing for the past 6-8 years now as both user interaction and revenues have continued to decline, and keeping it open just doesn't make fiscal sense at this point.

    Dates to Note:

6/1/2025 - Paid Subscriptions and New User Registrations have been disabled

8/1/2025 - New posts in the classifieds will be disabled

8/30/2025 - This site will shut down and no longer be accessible

It seems like once a week someone comes on the forum and asks the question: "What can I do to stiffen up the factory synthetic stock on my Axis?" Most who venture down this road eventually realize their time, effort and money exhausted on this endeavor ...

Converting an Axis to a magnum cartridge isn't hard, but it's not as easy as a normal Savage parts swap. The problem lies with the Axis' single piece firing pin, which is only long enough for a standard, short ...

While there are a plethora of upgrades for the bolt handle on a 1X/11X rifle, Axises have far fewer options. It's true that 1X/11X bolt handles will fit on an Axis bolt and seem to work in the short run, but the Axis' ...

One benefit of the Savage platform, whether it's an Axis or a 110-Series, is how easy it is to change barrels and how readily available pre-fit barrels are these days. Even though pre-fit barrels are intended to be ready to install right out of the box, it is highly ...

My 13-year old son and I have been competing in local scoped rifle matches for the past couple of years. We've been sharing a Savage 10FP in .308 which has worked, but being selfish, I slowly been accumulating the pieces to put together a rifle specifically for him so I could have mine back! A friend of ours ...
