For many years now I have been a regular user of picatinney scope bases (or rails if you prefer) from Evolution Gun Works, aka EGW, and often would recommend them to others as they have proven to be an excellent product offered at a reasonable price. However, my one and only complaint with their rails has always been that I didn't particularly like how they extended out over the recoil lug and barrel nut. Depending ...

It's been quite a few years since we last saw a new aftermarket trigger introduced for the Savage 110 series rifles, and a few long-standing aftermarket triggers for Savage 110's have even disappeared from the market in recent years due to a significant drop in demand and sales. This is mainly due to the popularity and ease of adjustment of the AccuTrigger being standard on the 110-series rifles. The AccuTrigger is offered ...

Recently I was presented the opportunity to try out the Boyds AT-ONE rifle stock in the new ambidextrous thumbhole shape and do an unbiased review on it. Being that I shoot left handed and often share my rifles and love of shooting with others of varying statures

Boyds AT-One with standard grip and forearm

Recently I was given the opportunity to try out one of the new At-One rifle stocks from Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks. The specific stock I requested and was supplied is inlet for a left-hand Savage Arms Model 10 short-action with a sporter barrel channel and blind magazine. The stock was supplied in Boyds new Ripple Timber laminate pattern which offers a slightly different look than their standard laminates.

Throughout my time shooting from numerous locations in a multitude of improvised positions I have constantly been searching for a Bipod that does it all, but doesn't break the bank. I have tried at least 5-6 on the market and all, but the Harris have been sold to the next user who enjoyed the features of the other brands better. The thing I like most about the Harris is its simplicity. ...

Once upon a time… in a gun shop far, far away… there were firearms that came equipped from the factory with quality stocks made of maple and walnut. Many of these stocks featured additional embellishments such as ebony or rosewood forend tips and grip caps or cut checkering in the grip areas. Sadly, in this day and age most new firearms are being fitted with black or camo-clad injection molded polymer stocks that have about as much warmth and character as a brick. ...

Over the past thirty five years I have had the opportunity to field test and evaluate a great deal of long range precision rifle equipment. Some have been high quality, solidly built and well thought out, and others – not so much. As a current member of the Savage Rifle Team, I have been very lucky to get my hands on ...

I always seem to be thinking about the next project rifle and this time I wanted to do something more double duty than usual so I built the rifle to be a target rifle out to 600 yards plus a varmint rifle if the opportunity ever presents itself. ...

Ever wished someone would offer a single-shot adapter for the Savage Axis? Something that would slip in place of the factor DBM and allow you to easily single-feed cartridges at the range or in a prairie dog town without having to modify anything else on your rifle? ...

One of the two key areas in need of improvement on the Savage Axis is the trigger (the other being the stock in case you were wondering).
