  1. Notice: Effective 8/30/2025 I will be shutting down this site. After 24 years of operation the time has come. This is a decision I have been facing for the past 6-8 years now as both user interaction and revenues have continued to decline, and keeping it open just doesn't make fiscal sense at this point.

    Dates to Note:

6/1/2025 - Paid Subscriptions and New User Registrations have been disabled

8/1/2025 - New posts in the classifieds will be disabled

8/30/2025 - This site will shut down and no longer be accessible

We just received one of the new B-Series rimfires for review so naturally I had to tear it apart to see what makes it tick. The bolt assembly on these new rifles is vastly different than those found on their predecessors - the Mark I/II/93R models. This new bolt assembly features a bolt assembly ...

Once upon a time… in a gun shop far, far away… there were firearms that came equipped from the factory with quality stocks made of maple and walnut. Many of these stocks featured additional embellishments such as ebony or rosewood forend tips and grip caps or cut checkering in the grip areas. Sadly, in this day and age most new firearms are being fitted with black or camo-clad injection molded polymer stocks that have about as much warmth and character as a brick. ...

In 2010 Savage Arms introduced the Model 110 BA, their first centerfire rifle to feature an aluminum chassis. While innovative at the time, the chassis used on the 110 BA and its siblings (the 10 BA, 110 BAS-K and 110 BAT/S-K) was bulky and heavy resulting in a rifle that weighed as much as 18-pounds sans optic. Recognizing this, the development team at Savage ...

The Bushnell Elite series of optics have had an excellent reputation over the years for offering great performance and quality at a reasonable price point. In fact, my oldest optic just happens to be a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40mm that I purchased in 2001 and it’s still just as clear and reliable today as it was on the day I bought it. I have also owned a few Elite 4200 series rifle scopes over the years, and my CZ 452 American in .17 HMR currently wears an Elite 6500 2.5-16x42mm. In short, the Bushnell Elite line is one I have a lot of experience with so I was excited to have this opportunity to review Bushnell’s ...

For many the Mil (milliradian) can be somewhat confusing and overwhelming at first because it requires them to look at and measure angles differently than they are used to when using the more common Minute of Angle (M.O.A.) method. Once one understands the basic principal and unit of Milliradians however, many ...

Minute of Angle (M.O.A.) is possibly one of the most misused and misunderstood terms in the everyday-shooter’s lexicon. Some will immediately spout M.O.A., “that’s an inch at 100yards.” Close enough to be true, but this unit of measure is so much more than that.
