  1. Notice: Effective 8/30/2025 I will be shutting down this site. After 24 years of operation the time has come. This is a decision I have been facing for the past 6-8 years now as both user interaction and revenues have continued to decline, and keeping it open just doesn't make fiscal sense at this point.

    Boyds AT-One with standard grip and forearm


    Recently I was given the opportunity to try out one of the new At-One rifle stocks from Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks. The specific stock I requested and was supplied is inlet for a left-hand Savage Arms Model 10 short-action with a sporter barrel channel and blind magazine. The stock was supplied in Boyds new Ripple Timber laminate pattern which offers a slightly different look than their standard laminates.

    My rifle's firing pin has a square of metal, that stops the forward movement of the firing pin, when the square strikes the breech face, of the barrel. The square of metal had to be reduced. There are better ways (equipment like mills, etc.) to do this. But, the way I increased the forward movement of the firing pin works.
