I found a nice little orphaned Savage 1917 32acp the other day that I gave a new home to.
The 240XXX serial number indicates it was made in 1920 and it has a pretty nice nickel finish on it, though a close inspection showed it started its life as a blued gun, but my 1907 Savage (1910 vintage) was wanting a playmate so I couldn't resist.
The gun is pretty tight with a shiny bore and good rifling, so it still seems to have plenty of life in it.
