    Buying ammo

Today may 11th 2019 I went to gander outdoor in traverse city mich. for the first in 2 yrs. I went to buy 3 boxes of ammo and check-out woman says birthday. I said I was over 60 yrs old. she responded again that she needed a birthday, so I told her jan 2nd 1911. she looked at me and said she needed MY birthday to buy ammo. I left the 3 boxes on the counter and walked away. I will never go back again. the place should be boycotted. Is this a common practice at stores to buy ammo?

Very common in the chain stores. Wal-Mart, Meijer's, etc. Often times when they scan the UPC on the ammo the system automatically prompts them to enter a D.O.B. and they can't proceed w/o it. Corporate policy to cover their butts so nobody sells ammo to someone under age. No different than alcohol in that regard.
