I was just online at MidwayUSA and they have "coming soon" Nosler 6.5 Creedmoor Ammunition. Nosler will be offering a 140 Match Grade and 140 Trophy Grade (Accubond) ammunition. I verified by looking at Nosler's 2013 product guide online. I am excited!!
They will also have brass for the 6.5 Creedmoor (50 count).

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Ouch.
Im using Lapua 22-250 brass with good results so far. No need to pay that much unless it lasts forever.
Hornady works, but after 4-5 loads, primer pockets are getting loose. Hope the Lapua does better.

^^^^WHAT kind of load are you shooting? I've had no pocket issues but was sizing too much and got case seperation. Some guys are getting 12 reloads on the hornandy brass. At $35 for 50 its hard to go wrong.
12!? Wow. Im using the load on the Hornady box. 41.5gr H4350
yep, like i said i got case seperation at 6, i'm going to try just neck sizing and see how i do. i'm been trying a 41.2 gr load and 42.5 gr load. the 42.5 grain load i'm shooting barely off the rifling, so i'm definitely upping the pressure. i've shot up to 43.5 grains but that wouldn't hold together out to 300 yrds.
how loose are your pockets? are you hand priming? i'm using my hornandy press so maybe i'm not picking up on the pressure difference needed to seat them. they all seem fine to me, never had one fall out even shooting up to 43.5 grains.
i'm shooting H4350 as well and using berger 140 gr VLDs
Hand priming. Maybe my definition of loose isnt that loose, but they sure feel like it. Im about to load some 5x fired, we'll see how they feel.
hey i need brass if they aren't that loose i'll pay shipping
:D
Bolt heads are cheap, whats a little gas cutting/erosion. :what:
i've never seen any signs of gas leakage, have you?
Not yet, which is why Im still loading these.
i just took a drill bit to 2 of my cases after 6 firings, ones that show seperation signs are are being trashed. using the bit i pushed against the floor and could not budge either primers...
i was only getting 2-3 reloadings from my hornady brass before the primer pockets got to loose and by loose when i went to seat the bullet the primer fell out onto the floor . i may have gotten a bad batch of brass my load is not hot 42.0 gr h4350 seated .115 off the lands (ogive) started making my own from 308 cases i'm hoping to try them at the range this weekend.
No kidding, what primer? I'm using CCI LR#200
I've never had amazing results with their Accubond bullets.
I have heard that their brass is very good quality.
Amax and vmax rounds have an excellent reputation. I've heard 50/50 on the brass, some people complain about loose pockets but I haven't see. It. I wonder if it is a manufacturing consistency QC issue or a certain primer or load issue which is why I've been asking for the details. I have yet to have a primer fall out of any brass. I've only had one case show pressure signs on the back face where the ejector left a dimple and that Cass seperated on me. So I'm going to pull my die up a Tad and get new brass. 42.5 gr is the Max I plan to load now.
Hodgdon Max is 40.0, which is conservative, but if you are separating cases at or above 42.5, thats pretty hot.
What velocity are you getting? Barrel length?
Case seperation is due to the full length die being adjusted too far down overworkinh the brass. This is 6 firings.
26" barrel
At 41.2 -.010 off the lands I get 2770 fps
At 42.5 -.002 off the lands I'm getting 2780-2800
-.005 off I get 2840
This is brass I've load tested and even done seating test at 43.5 gr. I didn't have a chrono at that time and the brass showers no signs of overpressure
43.5 was falling apart at 300 yrds so I worked the 42.5 gr load more. She likes it just off the lands but I've found. 002 to be too close to get consistent numbers. I'm going to workup a 42 gr load and compare it to the 42.5 at -.005 and 41.2 at -.010 because so far I have shot sub. 200 groups with both at 100 yrds. Just can't do it consistently.
The 42.5 load held together better at 300.
I have some of my Hornady brass up to it's sixth load, no primer pockets issue's, or other issues ( now watch one blow smooth up in my face), My Creedmoor is the Savage LRP, I am using 39.1 H4350, CCI BR primer, Sierra 142 MK and COAL is 2.800, I have thought about trying different COAL, but I went with the 2.800 during barrel break in, and that load has shot so well, I haven't tried anything else yet. I neck size, then use a Redding Body Die about every fourth reload.

Uncle h. What kind of speed/accuracy are you seeing with that load?
Average 2708, accuracy is great at 200/300 and 600 yards, no joke sub MOA at 200 yards, will post some pix of targets, next match (two weeks from now) I had spoke with Hornady tech guys back when there was no published data on the Creedmore, they had emailed me some load data , they highly recommended not going over 2700 on speed for best accuracy.
Thanks ill have to do a bit more load testing.
load is fed210m primers,42.0 gr h4350,with 140 gr amax heads seat well off the lands (just about factory seating ) i started forming my own using 308 lclr brass and lapua and i'm on my 5th loading with no pressure signs using 39.3 grs (cases are thicker) neck turned all the case .0145 its leaving .002-.003 chamber space on a loaded round.the run out is almost nill also .
I just noticed the comment about sub moa no joke. I'm shooting 3/4" at 200 yrds on most of my loads, only at 300 I'm getting 1 1/4-2". I'm going to try a scope with more magnification and see if that helps at all. I was really hoping for a solid 1" or so at 300. Someday I want to see what she does at 600 yrds.
