Nice!! I've always loved the thumbhole stocks.
Always wanted a dedicated LR Varmint rifle. This started as a used Model 16 Weather Warrior with a .308 sporter barrel. Added a pillar bedded Boyd's VT stock, Savage steel trigger guard, Tactical BH, Leupold SS rings and Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9 scope. The heart is the McGowen 26" 1:8 twist SS Bull Barrel in 22-250. Worked up 2 loads for it. The first is a 50g V-max under 25g RE15 moving over my Magnetospeed at 3870FPS with amazing accuracy (best group .32) and a heavy 80g A-Max over 25.2g of Alliant Power Pro 2000MR clocked at 3150 FPS.
Nice!! I've always loved the thumbhole stocks.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Ha!
Nice mate.. Very nice.
What size action is it? 4.4?
I have just bought a second hand warrior in the same calibre but buffed it in a choate. May rebarrel to 243 but love the sound of your 80 gr load... Nice job mate!
Awesome!! I want a fast twist for my 22-250 bad!
Very nice and good choice in caliber! My 50 grain vmax load pushed hard by varget does some spectacular things to prairie dogs! Your gonna love it.
Congrats on a your build, that rifle screams accuracy & class.....Varmits BEWARE!
Sort of makes me think of, "This is my great-great-great-great Grandpa's ax, the very one he pioneered the wilderness with. The handle's only been replaced three times, and the head twice!"
Nice-looking rifle, though, that should do the job well.
