Just curious, but has anyone ever seen or own another 93R17 BTVS with a factory thumbhole stock in this color?

Kind of hard to tell from that picture. Is it brown? If so it is probably chestnut.Originally Posted by JES629
If it is kind of red with blue streaks, it is jacaranda.
I have the 93R17BTVS in the jacaranda.

Tincan, it's various shades of dark gray, light gray and black.
I have a left handed 93R17 with that same stock. I HATE it. I have wanted to replace it ever since I bought the gun. The problem is I haven't been able to find a replacement. Being lefthanded is a real bummer.
Who makes those laminate stocks for Savage .17HMRs....Boyds?
The stocks are made by Boyds. From the pictures I would call the above stock pepper colored.
I just picked up a new MKII BTVS in 22 lr and have a very similar color. Much deeper in color then what I'm used to seeing.
it is pepper and i think its one of the better colors for hunting my fav. is forest camo from stockys
mjc5853-If you want to make that stock look like you just put some clear coat on it, just take some fine car polish, I use Groits Garage Fine Hand Polish. Polish that baby up a little to the point it is really shining and then put some wax on it. I used Birchwood Casey Stock Wax and it really worked well. It will not be up to a Tuck finish, but it will be surprisingly good.
All of these stocks,
are Beautiful. Thank's.
