savage model 40 extraction

I bought a new model 40 in 22 hornet a while back and had numerous extraction problems , replaced the extracters and polished the chamber with no help . I then went to winchester brass and that cured the proble for a while and now I am back to the same ol problem , empty case stuck in the chamber . Its easy enough to get out with a cleaning rod but that is not how its supposed to be . Any suggestions ?

This was a common problem with the 40's. Mine thank goodness has not had that problem since I have had it, but mine was rechambered by the previous owner to a 22 K-Hornet. I know most guys send them back to Savage and get it taken care of. Savage Customer Service has a great reputation.
