Re-adjust the magazine spring by loosening the screw and pushing it away from the guide bar. This will shorten the spring length to the notch in the magazine.
I bought my 93R17HB several months ago and while it shoots great, from day 1 I have had feeding issues from all 3 mags. The first and second rounds will not feed normally unless the mag is forced all the way up into the action. After 1 & 2 are gone usually 3 and always 4 & 5 feed fine. Call Savage and they sent me a new mag, + I bought a extra mag and all do the same thing. Any suggestions or similar experiences? Saavage wants the gun back tofix it, but I hate to break it down to ship if someone has had this happen before and fixed it. I have polished mag lips w/a Dremel tool, played with lip adjustments, etc, some of which helped a little, buy bottom line-if the mag is not pushed into the action the 1st 2 rounds will hit the barrel just below the chamber and not go in. Help!
