I dont see any on mine.
I just bought an old staggered feed 10FP serial # G7097XX the previous owner said his rifle is unfired, the actual rifle look fairly new, pratically no scratches excepted for some on the barrel nut, is it normal to have scratches on the barrel nut from the factory?
I dont see any on mine.
I've used some cold blue on it and all the "marks" virtually disappear.
Does it have the factory roll engraved barrel still on it? If not, that may be where the scratches on the barrel nut came from.

What is "factory roll engraved barrel" do you mean the text on both side "SAVAGE MODEL 10 CAL.308 WIN. SAVAGE ARMS INC..." on left side and the "WARNING..." on the right side? If it's what you mean yes the barrel have this engraved.Originally Posted by GaCop

The stock is an aftermarket stock, not factory. The scratches could've occured when they swapped out the stocks, but the action/barrel are factory fare.
Yes I know it's a Bell & Carlson A2 stock.Originally Posted by Txhillbilly
Could be just somebody going over the rifle and checking everything that has threads for tightness. Nut wrench, yup she's tight. Everything else looks fine. I like that stock.
