Rings are plenty high. The extended base is the problem.Try to find a shorter base, that does not extend beyond the action. This will give you more latitude to set your eye relief.
Trying to mount a Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40 with EGW picatinny tail and medium signature zee rings. The rifle is a 111fhs long action.
I thought medium would work until I got my rings today. The scope needs to come back I would say a 1/2".

Should I just get high rings?
Thanks

Or cut the front of that base off.

I think it will still hit with the front extension cut off, so I went with the high rings. The Diamondback 3-9x40 is pretty short.Originally Posted by pdog06
Its an aluminum base, files and grinds very easy High rings will fix one problem only to give you another, ya you can put a cheek piece on too but??
Honestly I don't think it will clear with medium rings on the egw. It's still a tad too far forward,Originally Posted by CJ in WY
