My new Shilen select match barrel is shooting sub moa with factory ammo, and an inexperienced shooter! As far as breaking in I have not seen any signs of copper at all through the first 30 rounds. Maybe I dont know what to look for, but when I clean it all I get is some black powder residue. I have not seen any of the blue indicators on patches yet. I cleaned it after the first 5 shots, again after 5, and then after 10.

Are you using a copper solvent?

My Shilen showed a little blue on the patches for about 50 rounds. None since.

I'm at work so I cant look at the brand, but yes it is a copper solvent in a spray can with a tube. Light blue and grey can.

I absolutely followed every published guideline by Shilen I could get my hands on! lol As Eric said- how would they know differently?

Never needed the warranty on a Shilen barrel.
