Put a push feed bolt head on it. The CRF will load single shot just fine though, the only difference is the ejector.
what would i have to do to convert my controlled round feed bolt to a push feed bolt.it is on a utramag action and i want to e able to load a single round at a time.thanks,marty

i was always told that you couldnt single feed a cantrolled round feed unless the round was in a mag already.but if you can single feed it then i have no reason to change it.thanks for the info.marty

Have a Savage Custom Shop 375 H&H which was originally built with two complete bolt assemblies -- one for push-feed and one for controlled-feed.
Have never had a problem with either one feeding from the magazine, extracting, or ejecting.

It will feed fine without a magazine. The Savage CRF is not like a Mauser or model 70 Winchester. The extractor is made to snap over a rim, or to let a round slip under it when feeding from a magazine. All you need is a single shot follower.
