I BELIEVE that as long as its a 1/4" X 28, its all the same.

I have an older Savage long action single shot. It has the bolt screw (BAS?) that is a flat head screw. My newer Savages and Stevens have the allen head screw. Can I use a newer style allen head screw on the older rifle? Is that something that sharpshooter carries? Or Northland? Or Savage?
I would just like to make everything the same.

1/4x28 is the action screw size. You had decaff this morning? LOL
The bolt screws do interchange. If you older one is of a style that fits into the sleeve, it will still change with the newer ones that do not.

OK, I must have had decaf this morning too because I didn't catch it either. LOL! But yeah, 1/4-28 would be a little small for the bolt screw wouldn't it.
I don't know which style of bolt it is. I haven't been into it yet. It came on an older 112 22-250 single shot. As hard as those screws are to shake loose I could see leaving some damage marks on them with a flat head screwdriver. I would rather change it to an allen head.
older screws were not as tight and had nylon inserts in the threads to act as thread locks
