which way does the ejector go in?

assembing a new bolt, down to installing the plunger ejector.

the groove cut for the retaining pin in it is offset - one side is short, the other is long.

which end goes in? The FAQ doesn't say.

That is the way mine was when I took it out of my benchgun. The long side should a little rounded the way I am told.

The short side in. Although I haven't tried I doubt you'll be able to install the cross pin if its in backwards.

The ejector will go in backwards, at least on my .378 bolt head they will. I do this so I don't have to hunt down my brass. I know if I take it out I will loose the little pins and spring. Makes for a great place to store them. The rouned edge goes out and the flat side goes against the sprint.
