    Hart LRT at Stockys?

Has anyone tried one of these. It looked pretty good, and is on sale so I ordered one and it should be here next week. Didn't know if anyone had any thoughts or experience with one of these.

I think they look pretty good myself. Did you order the pillars? From my understanding, you will need them.

+1 the stockey stocks are not pillar bedded. I bought pillars from Brownell's and did my Stock Stock w/o any major problems. You can also remove the pillars from a factory tupperware stock and use those too.

Yes I did order the Pillars with it for $10 extra. It would be nice if theyhad it for the LA, I am suprised they only have it for the CF and not for the SF also, but I am glad if it had to be one or the other it was CF cuz thats what i needed. I must have got the last "Autumn" colored one they had, cuz I see the it is gone from the in-stock list.

I bought one of those in Plum a few months ago. Really nice stock with a good finish. I ordered the precut pillars from them as well. The pillars were a perfect fit. I sanded out the channel and action area slightly to get ready for a bedding job. Just never got around to putting it together. Heck, I still have four others that haven't been shot yet.
    More shooting, less typing.

I bought mine a while back too in the Birch color. Turned my own pillars, Devcon bedded, and refinished the clear with an automotive clear. Installed an accessory rail under the forearm. Have shot just a handful of rounds through it and it turned out to be boringly accurate. The stock is comfortable with a nice fit and finish though. You won't regret the purchase if that is what you are looking for.

I sent Stockys an email on the Long actions a couple of months ago and they told me the same thing. Hopefully soon.

    Re: Hart LRT at Stockys?

Glad to hear that it so close, I may have to get one. I just ordered another SA LRT in the Brandy colors and they shipped it without the pillars. Charged me for them, but didn't ship. Took me 5 days to get in touch with someone other than their answering service (who only takes messages or will give you the email address). Now that I KNOW its gonna take 5 days to get a response I'm alright with it, but for those 5 days it was "What the heck is going on?", because when I ordered the first one (when this thread was started) I called and got a sales-rep or a tech every time. Now when you call expect to have to leave a message even during business hours, since they started using the new answering service (AKA- 24/7 Customer Support Line).

I am only stating this so that way you will know what is going on, rather than like me not having a clue and slowly getting more upset

And yes they are going to ship me the pillars I ordered.

They messed up my order as well, and several others. I know this because these people have contacted me. Stockys sent my personal info out on their invoice. It took them just shy of 2 weeks to contact us.
The stock they sent me is beautiful, but not the right one. Their customer service is crap, not sure if I will order from them again.

    Re: Hart LRT at Stockys?

Hey bootsmcguire I also got the same style stock as yours back in Jan. except in the birch, really sharp in my opinion. My Savage was done in a 17-222 which I have just finalized a couple of loads with the 25 grain V-Maxes. I am hoping it will be a fun prairie dog buster sending those bullets at 4000fps with minimal recoil. I decided to do another build in a 20 Practical in the Autumn color as yours but had to place a backorder. I was originally trying to decide between the Autumn and the Brandy but it appears you beat me to the trigger. Anyway in looking at the pictures of your stock it appears it is more of a pumpkin/black color as opposed to the pumpkin/grey as listed on Stockys. Am I correct as to the way it looks in the picture. I sent a picture of it to my brother who shoots too and he commented it sort of had a Halloween theme to it. I agree wishing it was a little more grey looking but still a sharp looking rig.

    Re: Hart LRT at Stockys?

    Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah I got the last Autumn they had, and the last Brandy. Sorry. I am not hoarding, the Brandy is for my buddies build and I just ordered it for him.

The Black in the Autumn colors is a faded black, you could call it light black or a dark grey. Either way I like it. I was thinking real hard on a Crimson and my first pick was a Hornet but it was gonna be a 12 week wait so I decided to go Orange or Red and my 3 yr. old said "Orange Daddy, Orange" so...

boots, It can be tough making that color choice ! It's in my "up bringing" to always make the "practical" choice & that means Brown/Brown or Gray/Black, because if I ever sell it, those two are probably the easiest. But one of these days I,m going to get Cobalt Blue or one/both of the colors you picked ! Good Shooting - :)

    Re: Hart LRT at Stockys?

Thanks boots for the reply and no need to apologize for getting the last stocks. I was wondering in my mind when the last time they had a shipment of Savage LRT stocks come in and if I was going to wait a full twelve weeks for delivery. I might try to call them but from reading their ordering information it sounds like they could not give an answer. My plan was to be able to put this new 20 Practical build together and have a load developed to take on my prairie dog shoot in mid June. I think I could do this if I had a stock in hand by the beginning of May. The other plan was to buy a LRT they have in stock and use the Autumn on another build as I like the Bobby Hart style stock.

As soon as the 110 Long Action stocks are announced, a Cobalt Blue will have my name on it.
