    Painting Scope

I have a Leupold scope in gloss finish that I would like to change to matte. Leupold says they can replace main tube (dent) but I have to stay with gloss. Don't understand that. So has any one tried refinishing a scope and any suggestions? Thanks

    Re: Painting Scope

I used krylon to camo a burris FFII scope, just sanded it with steel wool to knock off the shine, wiped it down with reducer, taped off the glass and went to work. Seems to be doing fine as it has been 3 years now. Some camo tape would sure keep the warranty intact and can be very easily undone. There are also some places that make neoprene scope covers that are camo.
