Savage 1906 GH pump rimfire shot.

Hi Guys, I thought I'd share a couple pictures of a 1906 Savage .22pump which I cleaned up for a WWII vet to put on auction. He can use the bucks so a friend and I am helping.
Turns out it's a upgrade GH model with better wood and checkering. Has the silver blade front sight and the 05 patent date adjustable barrel sight. Decent rifling remains. I shot it at the range and it did about 1.25" at 25 yards with my iffy eyes. I have located an original mag for it and that is on the way so the gun will be complete. Don't blame the metal condition on me. It came to me that way, I just cleaned with Ballistol and brass wool. No damage done. At sometime someone wiped it off with the wrong stuff because the bluing is fine under the sight, stock and forend.
Too bad. For a hundred year old gun, the wood is in astonishing condition. In particular for a .22.

Thats not a 1906, it's a 1903.

Where is it going to be auctioned? I've got a buddy that collects those old pump action Savages.

Thats a 21S on the rear, they came standard with 21B's so the rear sight is special order as well.

Thanks, I will have it on Gun Broker next week. I found an original magazine which should be here by Monday. I wanted to sell a complete rifle and was lucky to find the mag. It was the only part missing and someone came up with one. No easy feat. Seems like half these guns are missing the mag.
The original gun was a 1903 but there is a patent date on the barrel of 1906. Don't know what the patent enhancement was but those guns so stamped I have seen referred to as 1906 models. I understand there really wasn't much difference. I'm sure your collector Bud is well versed.
Anyway, it's a very interesting gun, probably a hundred years old I think they made them up to 1915.

Nice rifle, too bad some idiot took the patina off of it, it would have fetched more $$$
