    Freebore on new bbl.

Just received my CBI barrel from Jim @ northland and it looks great! Has anybody that bought one found the freebore to be short? I tried to check seating depth on a 6.5 140gr Sierra spitzer in my 260AI chamber, and it requires seating the bullet really deep! Any way, going to either send it off to a smith, or i am considering getting a tool from PTG to lengthen the freebore by hand......but don't want to mess it up...has anybody had any experience doing this, or am i better off to let a smith do it? Who do you guys suggest to do the work? Thanks, rsbhunter

Don't lengthen the free bore by hand you are looking at a very good chance at running it to deep, not straight, or you could damage it. Especially for what a throating reamer cost you can send it off for about half of what the tool cost.
