    XLR chassis

Just received my XLR chassis from Kyle. Thought I would post a few pictures of the setup.

I absolutely love the look of the chassis and the ergonomics are fantastic. It was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE working with Kyle. He took all the time in the world to answer all my questions as well as take care of all the necessary modifications to make everything work on the chassis.

    Specs on the stick:
-Savage M10 action T&T by SSS
    -Shilen 20" 1/10 barrel
    -David Kiff fluted bolt body
    -Tactical works bolt knob
    -SSS Comp trigger
-XLR chassis with MagPul PRS stock & DPMS Panther pistol grip
    -EGW 30MOA base
-Seekins HIGH rings (barely clears the setup)
    -Falcon 4-14x44 FFP optic
    -Atlas bipod
    -Alpha Type 2 magazine
    -YHM .308 can

Thank you! The stock assembly is modular, you can add the folder mechanism and install the buffer tube to it to make it foldable.

Very nice. Mine is at least two weeks out and I can't wait.

Did the EGW base fit OK or did you have to do any trimming?

I sent it in to Kyle so he could mill a bit off the end of the base so it'll fit.

Since you said the seekins high rings are barely adequate for a 44mm scope will that cheekpiece go up high enough to use a 56mm NF ??

Thanks - I thought I might have to do that. Hopefully, I don't make a mess of it.

For me, the cheek piece should barely just make it usable, for other's I can't guarantee that. The XLR stock option would offer the most adjustability over the PRS.

It shouldn't be too hard, just wanted it perfect so I sent it to Kyle.

Thank you for all the kind words gentlemen!

This stock looks like the stock used by the Army AMU on their new long range sniper rifles, saw one on Impossible shots with Ted Grundy a WW2 sniper making his first 1000 yard shot http://www.usrifleteams.com/forums/i...howtopic=17963 watch the first post "Ted Grundy meets the AMU"

It looks like I will need higher scope rings for my XLR. Do either of you know what the clearance is between the top of the barrel shroud and the top of the barrel on the XLR? Or, what size rings did you have before the XLR and what size did you put on after?

    Thanks,

    PB

Yeah, you're right about that; the wood grip I was looking at in another site cost $75.00

I had Fred fit the bolt. Even though I measured the race dimensions, I ordered the bolt .002 over my dimensions so that it could be perfectly fitted to the action.
