    30:06 long action

I have a Long action with a 30:06 bolt head on it. I dont want anything in the 30:06 family, ie 30:06, 280, 270, 25:06 etc. Is there anything else that takes that size of bolt head that is long action. Main reason is I already have a 30:06, 270, 25-06. I am thinking of trading it for a mag head, I was hoping a 375 head would fit but I dought it. What other long action take a :06 size bolt head

    thanks

Not sure what kind of power you're looking for but....

fast twist 6mm Rem loaded with long VLD style bullets would be great!!! Or the Ackley Imp. version of course

You could do a 375RUM with a magnum bolt head.

I new that list was some where, I have seen it a couple places before but for what ever reason I could not find it. I didnt really see anything on the list that sparked my interest. I did forget to mention that this is going on a remington 700 with the new barrel nut setup. I am looking for a barrel to order from Northland. I also talk to Devin, he might be able to do a little bolt work and open the bolt up to fit a mag case.

I was thinking about the 375 ultra just to have one. I dont have anything in the .375 familty. I have a 323, 338 and 40 cal so I guess I NEED a 375. I looked around a little and found that they have 403gr bullets that acually look like it can be more of a long range round then the "up close and personal" like I believe it was made for. Does anyone have any first hand experiance of what a set up like this would do??
They have some pics on the long range shooting website. They are shooting them from a 375-408 cheytac which I beleive has quite a bit more punch. But it would still be cool. Just dont want to waste money on an expensice POS.

I found this over on LRH I used it to purchase a savage for my first build 7mm rem mag to a 338 edge. Just starting. I am sure that all the much smarter people on here than I am will disprove any that may be wrong. good luck.

THE COPIED POST FROM LRH FOLLOWS:

Some times when considering a rebarrel and chamber or cartrige change you need to
know what round will work without boltface and extractor work.

I have a cheat sheet/ready reference and thought I would share it with every anyone
    that is interested.

All of these groups of cartriges should interchange without bolt face and extractor
work.( some work on recever rails may be needed to improve feeding ).

As far as wild cats what ever the parent case was it should work in the action listed.

I know this list is not complete but it's close.
