    magnum


    can i just get a magnum action and put a .532 or what ever the magnum size bolt head is on it and then im good?

    the othere question i had on mind is a long action a large shank?

    If the long action came from the factory as one of the ultra mags, then it might be a large shank. Most long actions are small shank. Savage does not make a "magnum" action per se except the 110BA.

    I am not 100% but I think some magnums had a different size firing pins.

    I have a flat back magnum action and I swap heads to 473 no problems.

    Actually 30-06, 270 etc will feed out of my older 300 WM magazine.
