Get a recoil lug from Sharp Shooter Supply. They are machined rather than stamped.

Or from Northlander. Standard thickness will be fine for a 260.

    Longrange Dog,
The Savage Small Shank Recoil Lugs are marginal. The alignment button on these lugs are stamped into the lugs. Doing this distorts the recoil lug and you loose the surface flatness. They are also just a touch thin and under a heavy recoiling caliber have bent. This was just discussed on another forum here somewhere.

I found it, here is that link - http://savageshooters.com/SavageForu...c,26562.0.html
