RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
Neck sized case, Fed 210, 55gr Sierra Spitzer, 34.5grs RL15 2.35 OAL, no crimp.
Easy to get 5 shots touching at 100yds, ussually they all end up in the same hole. Got easy 1.5" groups at 330yds, and many in the .75" range.
Load is not up to max, but works great in mine.

Thanks guys. I got a buddy of mine that loads helping me. He does not have a 22-250 so we needed a place to start.
Varget also did very well before I switched to RL15, but I never got up to the 38grs. Scope Eye uses. I think I never got higher than 35.0grs.

Hey boots RL15 and H380 are nearly identical in burn rates, and the 380 in H380 stands for 38gr which is they original powder designed 22-250 with a 53 gr projectile, so you have some room to grow.Originally Posted by bootsmcguire

What Scope Eye said +1. My favorate load is 37.6 H-380, 50g V-max WLR primer. Before I shot the barrel out it was a 1 holer.
Hey Blom send it to sinman he can rethroat it for short money 75.00 I think he said, I have brought back to life the same barrelOriginally Posted by blom
four times and when you get it back it's like a new barrel that is allready broken in

My Load is 37.4 grains of H380 with a 50gn v-max! Win brass/primer, flash hole deburred and pocket uniformed produces 1/2" out of my weatherby SUB MOA.
Well I figured i had some room when I started, but I hit 35.5 on the RL15 and was popping 1 out of 3 primers on new brass. Checked the brass and primers were snug. So I backed off to 35.0 and my groups opened, backed off to 34.5 and they tightened back up. I dunno, but it works.

You might try this load . . . I have never had a pressure problem with this load!

Just a heads up RL15 has the same burn rate as H380, just good info to know.

Yeah that is good to know. I dunno whats up with my barrel, might just been something weird with mine, but 34.5 was making good groups so I dunno. I have that barrel off right now, but once I pick up another action or decide what caliber I don't need right now, I am gonna remount it and play some more.

55 grain hornandy sp ... 34.5 grains of varget.
I gotta say I have to give it to you guys the ones that measure down to the tenth gr, I don't have in me and being OCD doesn't help either, so if I can't make it to the next round number for what ever reason, pressure - bolt lift - primer pocket or grouping, I stick with the next lower round number of grains I know not very scientific but it has allways worked for me, and I truly believe that who ever coined the phrase if it ain't broke was a reloader.

Thats funny! Well I personally hand weigh each charge so keeping it at a certain 10th of a grain isn't a problem. Once I find my load I set the powder drop .02 gns short and trickle in to perfection. I normally use a baby spoon for the powder when loading 20 rounds for load development purposes.Originally Posted by scope eye

Thanks for the advice, but it's to late, I have a bore scope and the first 12" of the barrel looks like alligator hide. I'd have had it rebarreled by now but my 2 usual Smith's don't have metric capabilities. Time to call sinman. blom
Here are some other powders that are close for those who are interested.

I know you want to use a heavier bullet, but I've always had really good luck with the 40 gr. v-max. I usually shoot a CCI primer, 37.4 gr. of varget, and a 40 gr. v-max. They group great, fly fast, and usually don't exit when shooting coyote sized game.

So it sounds like im gonna be buying some varget powder since most say that's what they use. As for the lead I was looking at sierra blitzkings and some soft points. Any input on them since most of you are useing v max?
I have a Predator DBM in 22-250. This is the only load I have ever shot in it.
55gr SBK over 37.1gr RL15, CCI BR2's, OAL to Ogive 2.095 which is a .005 jump, avg. 3725fps from the 22" barrel.
The last 3 shot group before the gun went into the safe was .156"
There are many good bullets and powders for a 22-250. My first loads were with the Speer 52g HP, maybe not the flashiest bullet around but shot great and would not exit a ditch tiger at even 100yds. 39.5g of W-760. Just pick something you like and go with it. Enjoy
blom....I too started loading the Speer 52gr hp over 30 years ago. I got to many crawl off's and then switched to the 55gr Sierra Blitz and then onto the Blitz King when that was introduced. I have never used anything else since.
Cover dog... I will try your load for sure. My rifle is the 10xp predator.
