    Hinged or Detachable?

What do you guys prefer a hinged floorplate or a detachable mag?

Also has anyone had any problems with the detachable mags on savages?

Personally I like the blind mags the best. I converted my 243 model 11 over from dbm to blind last year and couldn't be happier with it.

I have hinged floor plates on two Model 16s and they are fine, certainly easier (and possibly safer) to unload than a blind magazine would be.

However, the DBM would be the most convenient loading and unloading method, particularly for hunters who move from place to place by car or truck and have to unload every time they get into the car.

On my latest Model 16 (Accustock, left handed) the hinged floor plate was the only magazine type offered so there was no choice. I've thought of converting my older one to a dbm but the parts cost is high and probably not worth it.

i have a DBM and prefer it. only big problem is finding a good selection of after market stocks for it that don't need to be modified.

I'll bet that there are a lot of lost DBM's out there in the woods!

4 of the Savages I have, has the DBM. Each one I have had a problem with. For example the 3rd 204 round to get fed into chamber of the 12 btcss, pops up through the mag like when the mag gets down to 2 rounds it loosens up at the top. Just issues like that.
I have always been worried about loosing the mag.

Dbm is easy'r to load with smaller calibers like 223. Its a real pain in the butt to load a center feed blind box .223. So yes id vote for dbm. But I also have a 308 centerfeed blind box which is no probelm.
