Stevens SA receiver screw spacing...has it changed?

Looking at a Stevens .308 rifle as a donor action for a new build. I want to use a B&C Medalist with the old receiving screw spacing of 4.25".

Have the Stevens actions gone to the new screw spacing of 4.40" along with teh new Savages short actions? The rifle I am looking at has the internal box magazine, if that helps any.

Yes, all Stevens are now being made with the 4.40" centerfeed action. Been that way for a while now, but still the possibility to get an older stocked one if it is from a smaller shop.

Evidently you haven't bought the rifle yet ? I'd suggest you measure the screw spacing first as this could have an impact on the variety of stocks available to you. No way to tell if you have current action screw spacing unless you measure or call Savage w/ the serial #.
