    225 - 250 grn loads

Looking for .338 Edge load data or a success story using 225-250 grn pills
in this caliber. A favorite powder, best chrony numbers? Have decided to
stay away from the 300's for a while and see what I can do with these.
Thanks all for any info you would share.

Maybe you haven't got a response because this topic request was made 11 lines down from your request. My answer is there anyway.

Yessir, I did see your response there some time ago, seems like you were the only
one with an under 300 grn bullet load discussed at all. Was just thinking someone
might have worked up some different load data.

I am not sure but I may be somewhat of a novelty in this arena. I won't shoot at game past 600 yards so a nice Accubond is a Hammer in my world. Many that shoot the large capacity cases also do so because it drives the heavier BC bullets with better ballistics much farther.

Your logic is just right in my perspective. I have 225 grn Accubonds, and also believe
that this weight and 3000+ mv= absolute hammer. I have no problem getting within 600 yds
of anything I have hunted here in the high plains, and have set that distance as a upper limit
in my hunting also. I do have some ridiculously high BC 245 grn brass solids that are for a friendly
600 yard competition, hence the range of my inquiry. Do you have any experience with brass pills?

I do have brass and copper bullet experience from different companies.

Go to the Barnes load data and use the 338 RUM data as a starting point.

245gr high BC sounds like Lehigh bullet.

Right again! they are Boreriders. I was curious about the cleaning; I use Sweets

and or Barnes for copper fouling, but what about brass? Are you cleaning the same

for either bullet style? Thank you for the direction on the load data, seems logical

now that I hear someone say it. I am very excited to work these loads up and chronograph.

Wanted to say I liked your you tube vid too, the Strikers are very cool.

I have not seen any brass shavings from the Lehigh bullets on Benchmark barrels. Since I went to Nitriding all my barrels I have not seen anything except powder residue inside any of my barrels.

I cleaned my 6.5WSM at 250 shots. A wet patch of Kroil and two dry patches and all was good.

    Thank you

Man I love Kroil too! I have a 30" tube ordered for the Edge, any day now.

I hope to break it in, and once just right, Nitride it, keeping it there for many shots.

I have a good selection of powders together to find a honey..Have you tried anything

other than H4831, Retumbo, H1000, RL22, in these bullet weights? Viht? US869?..etc.

I have what you list and have used only two of those. Had a good thing on the first go around and a one holer on the second. Velocity was great so stood pat and did not try much else.

    Hey Hammer-
This is off topic, but I have been meaning to ask you is you have Nitrided
CM barrels and SS both? if so I would love to discuss!
