111 7mm mag and Nikon Pro Staff???

New 111. I purchased the scope prior to the gun. I'm having a mother of a time finding bases and rings to make this scope work. I got a great deal on it and like the scope. Thinking about going with the EGW $40 bases. Any combinations that are working for you guys? Like to keep this scope as low as possible. It's a 3x9x40. Gun is the accu trigger version. Really excited to shoot if i ever figure out the perfect combo of mounts and rings. Great site and thanks for the help.

Almost finished mounting my Bushnell 4200x50 on my new Savage 11 LRH 308. Not sure which EGW 'bases' you are talking about but I used the EGW Heavy Duty 20MOA Picatinney rail for Savage short action. You would want the long action version if you wanted to go that route. I used the Burris XT rings for Picatinney rail. It's a rock solid mount for the Savage round top accutrigger reciever. Got all the stuff at the SWFA site. Good Luck! -Andy

I'd imagine any low rings will work; the EGW base is fairly tall compared to some other options.

As a point of reference, I have a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 in medium Signature Zee rings on Burris Xtreme Tactical 2-piece bases on an older flat-back 110 and while not way up in the sky, its got plenty of room between the barrel & objective.

Okay, i hate to show my rifle ignorance, but what's the difference between the 0 MOA and 20 MOA?

A 20-MOA base has some angle built into it that allows you to use the elevation turret on your scope to "dope" your range on longer shots without running out of travel on the turret.

Has anyone tried the Warne Maxima rings with the EGW bases? I'm thinking about these in low. Look solid.

The caveat to this is that depending on the scope and the rifle, you may not have enough adjustment to get a 100yd zero.

Weaver makes a multi-slot "tactical" one-piece base for Savage bolt actions in both long and short action forms. The aluminum version lists for $20 and is part number 48329 for the LA receiver.

I just installed one on my new Model 16 and it fit very well. The only problem is the two forward mounting screws bottomed out too soon and had to be shortened.
