Bipod with flat forend stock

How are you guys attaching a bipod to a target type stock? I've got a Choate Tactical stock and Caldwell bipod. The bipod is perfect for an AR15 free float tube, but the Choate stock is too wide. The bipod does not have anything to grab onto, so it rotates. I've seen some adapters for a Harris bipod at one time, but can't seem to find them anymore. I really don't have the money for one anyways. I'm probably just going to make something, but curious what other people have done.

I believe the bipod by Harris is a #9.

R.W. Hart also makes an adaptor that you cannot even see once the bipod is installed. It is a pc of alum that is flat on the stock side and rounded on the bipod side, and it has a hole in the middle for your bipod stud to go thru. The only thing I had to do on mine was to get a longer stud, and I also put a strip of non-slip padding between the stock and adaptor so it wouldnt scratch my stock. I paid $9 for mine right from Hart, but I thought that Sinclair, Brownells, or Midway was selling them as well.

BTW, the review here says the adaptor soun on him and he shoulda used a non-skid tape on it. I actually used that no protect the finish, but mine did not spin on me so it musta worked for that as well.

Personally, I think the Harris will probably work better, but it just doesnt look as nice on the gun. Not a big deal though.

A few minutes after I posted that, I went to work making an adapter. Took me about 3 hours, but it was free and I'm happy with the results. I'll post some pics in a little while.

My harris fits every stock I own with a sling swivel stud.The wider the better as I have the same choate stock and it works great with no adaptor.I really dont understand what the problem is.

It's not perfect, but it's not bad for a grinder, dremel, and drill. Looks rough, but it's actually very smooth, and it locks up rock solid.
