There is an instruction sheet that comes with the rifle when you get it, along with the adjustment tool.
Do you have the tool?
All you do is insert the tool up into the trigger spring, and turn counter-clockwise to lighten pull weight, or turn clockwise to add pull weight.

Found it for you on savages site so you can download it if you dont have the book.
Go here:
http://www.savagearms.com/downloads.htm
then click on the bolt action centerfire/ accutrigger models download.
the trigger adjustment section is on pages 13,14 and 15, with detailed pics.
Really easy to do..
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I need one of the adjustment tools. Guess I'll write to Savage.

No need to write Savage... I'd bet if you put a want ad in the classified section that someone would give you one for free, or close to it. I dont have any extras or I'd do it.Originally Posted by joeb33050

Usually you can turn the springs with your finger, or just get a little help from a tool!

Wouldn't a valve stem core tool work also? $.99 at walmart or autozone
I think it would, but have never tried it. Maybe tonight when I get home I'll try it and see.Originally Posted by Eric in NC

Valve stem tool might be a little big, might have to trim it, I don't know about the length also!
Again, try with you fingers, the use maybe a dishtowel with your fingers, then lightly using needle nose pliers with a dishrag will work. I know, I have done it. You don't damage anything.
Most of the time if your fingers are strong (LOL) it will turn, all depends how tight you want to go! If you are loosing, shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the help. I went to the Savage on-line manuals, looked up the how-to trigger adjustment.
Was able to turn the spring with my fingers. When that got hard to do, turned the spring with a small screwdriver through the hole. Didn't damage anything, trigger is nice.
