    Re: Scope base Savage Axis

On the two piece bases it is the same as an Accu-trigger Savage 10 or 110.
48466 SAVAGE 110 ACCU TRIGER MATTE
48467 SAVAGE 110 ACCU TRIGER SILVER

Now if you want a one piece mount then EGW is your only option.

    Hi Everyone,
I too have a Savage Edge in 243 Cal. Already have two piece basses on it. Would like a one piece. What Company does the three letters
    stand for.

    Thank You

EGW is what the company goes by, but if you must know it is Evolution Gun works.

can anyone tell me what # bases are included in the 48466 set or for sure what bases are needed for the front and back. I have a local gun shop closing down and they have some single bases but not the set.

if you use the EGW base, can you move the scope any farther toward the rear than with regular 2 piece weaver bases?

    Re: Scope base Savage Axis

(Facts:) Weaver 46 (48046) work for both front and rear of Axis and Stevens 200 long and short actions.

I just purchased two yesterday (need one for the front and one for the rear) for $3.99 each at my local Dicks Sporting Goods store (Out the door for $8.46, tax included)

I checked and they DO fit my axis and my Stevens 200 (both long action and Short action) rifles.

On the Weaver website, it states that these bases also work with Savage accutrigger models with the round receiver.

They are not 1 piece bases, however (warning, opinion follows), with these Weaver bases and Burris Zee rings and inserts you still get an excellent mounting system that can compensate for any misalignment or add however many MOA to your scope angle that you wish.

(Back to facts:) I have been using Burris Zee rings for several years and have never had any issues or trouble with them not performing as expected.

    All the best,
