bluing kits do not leave a very uniform finish, would be my last choice. If you keep it protected you can leave it white.
What do you want it to look like. matt blue, high luster blue, olive drab?
When I get my in the white barrel what should I do to finish it? Do I need a blueing kit? Do I need to blue the bore and chamber? Or just mount it and paint the exposed area with Duracoat?

You can get decent results with Brownells Oxpho Blue Creme but cold blues don't offer much protection. I would pay someone to parkerize it or duracoat it yourself.
No - do not finish bore and chamber.
I will duracoat it for sure but, I was just concerned about the non-painted areas, chamber/bore/threads, rusting. I do use anti-sieze on the threads anyway. Main concern was just rust problems.
cerakote it
You can also just paint it with engine enamel (variety of colors available). I would also clear coat afterwards for a light layer or two of clear paint.
As Eric mentioned, I have had good luck with the product he mentioned.
....or....polish or glass bead the barrel...and apply a coat or two of car wax.
Thanks for the info again. I will just duracoat it then and keep the bore protected.
