Great round. easy to load for and very accurate. little recoil and little noise. Mine is a 14 twist so I can only shoot up to a 68 gr bullet. H322 is my powder of choice.

I've been reading a bit about this and wondered if anyone has tried it? It sounds like a great round for my daughter that's not quite ready for .243. I have a 6mm barrel blank that I was going to have made into a .243 for her. I figured I could have it cut for 6X45 then when she was ready for the 243 we could chamber it in that.

Thanks Steve. My barrel is an 8 twist so I was kinda hoping to goof around with some 105's when the girl wasn't using it
The Hornady book has info for up to 100gr.

Go on and make it an 8 twist and make it a 6mm TCU (or even better a 7mm TCU).
Have a set of dies waiting to build a 6x45 rifle...Black Hills introduced 85gr and 100gr ammo at the Shot Show
Everything I read about it, it is a great little round.
I have made about 6 of them for customers from 1/8-1/14 twist and they all seem to love them
Devin, do you still have the reamer? I called Dave Kiff today and he said it'd be a few weeks before he could get me one and I was thinking I could just send you the barrel blank and have you handle itOriginally Posted by sinman
Yes I do, it is sitting in my 6mm reamer drawer ready to make chips.

I have an AR15 with a Frontier Arms upper, BHW 20" 5 groove bbl., 1/10" twist and it puts sierra 85 sgk into .600"-.900", 65vmax to .400"-700", 70g NBT to .500"-.900".
It flattens coyotes out to 350yds so far all 1 shot with the 65vmax.
Super easy to load for. I will be having a Shilen bbl turned for my FP10 action as I want it in a bolt gun now.
In my AR it the felt recoil is very soft compared to my .223 AR.
Sounds like a good plan to me. On Predator Masters under the reloading forum there is an extensive 6x45 load thread. Sierra also has load information in their book.
AC thank you for the data!
Looks like this might be a great sleeper round for our impromptu shoot-offs
