What are your plans for it? Check, clean, and shoot it? Or, part it out for a custom build?
Folks, I am brand new to this site. Impressive amount of info on the Savage. I am currently on active duty serving in the Navy, but assigned to the Marine Corps. Went to a pawn shop yesterday after not being able to find a new Savage 30-06 new at any of the local sport shops. Must be a popular rifle. To my surprise I found a very nice 110E model, 30-06 with a nice Nikon Pro Staff 3X9 40 scope. Outstanding condition. Picked it up for $300 Based on most of my research, appears to be a very reasonable price............what do you think..................will post pix shortly...........

I think that was a pretty good buy, especially given the optic.
With the long action its a blank slate for any build you might consider down the road, but it should be able to hunt most any game you can find in the lower 48 immediately.
