    6mm BR - Ejection Help

I have a staggered feed stevens action I converted to a 6mmbr. I would like for it to feed/eject as a repeater, would make a nice predator rifle. I believe I have it feeding reliably from the magazine, but the empty cases won't eject.

I've fixed ejection issues on a 22-250 by changing the extractor and filing the ejector pin to get more extrusion.

I've yet to do work on the 6mm BR bolt, wanted to solicit some input first. Anybody had any luck?

I never could get mine to feed from a staggered action, so good going.

The common ejection fix is to extend the pin. I ended up using mine as a single feed so never
    extended the pin.

+1 what Tammons said. I never fixed my feed problems and ended up going single shot with a sled follower.

I ended up switching over to a centerfeed and that worked, but never did the pin mod.

Well there is a couple of other things you can do to make it work.
You say you have lengthen the ejector, now if you place a longer piece of spring under it, and then flatten the top.(The area that touches the round) The tops are rounded and allow the case to wiggle, if you slightly cut the top flat so the round doesn't wiggle it will help a bit. The other thing to do is replace the extrator ball to a bigger one. There is a fellow in the classified section selling these balls.

    So

    - lengthen ejection pin
    - possible lengthen ejection spring
    - square-off end of ejection pin to prevent casing from rolling off
    - bigger extractor ball

What does the bigger extractor ball do?

Re: 6mm BR - Ejection Help

I never did get my 6br stagger feed to reliably eject.
The problem I had was that the case is just too short. When it is extracted, it is pushed by the ejector at such an angle that the extractor can't hold on to it anymore.
I tried lengthening the ejector protrusion, bigger extractor detent ball, even making a longer "lip" on the extractor. All these things helped, but it still wouldn't eject about 50% of the time.
Sorry I am no help, hope you have better luck than I did.

    Help it to eject.

What it does is, holds the extractor tighter, and grabs the brass better.

Maybe I got lucky, it seems to feed from the mag just fine.

Sounds like it's an exercise in futility and frustration to get it to eject empties.
