If your gunsmith doesn't know those answers I would look else where. I charge $75 plus shipping for a rechamber FYI
I have a s12 in 22-250 that I want to re chamber to 22-250 AI. My gunsmith will have to rent a reamer so should he use a fixed or floatint reamer? Next howdoes one set the headspace on an AI chamber?

Floating is always the preferred choice. they just cost more.
.223 Rem AI, .22-250 AI, .220 Swift AI .243 Win AI, .6mm Rem AI, .257 Rob AI, .25-06 AI, 6.5x300wsm .30-06 AI, .270 STW, 7mm STW, 28 nosler, .416 Taylor
Sinman has cut alot of A.I. chambers for me....really well I might add.
I will be contacting sinman but I stiil have the question of how do I head space the 22-250 AI?
Use a 22-250ai go gauge
And a standard .22-250 go gauge, will work as your no go gauge on the AI.
I just pulled down the Clymer section on AI headspace gauges.. I use as my reference the Sierra load ing manual V ed. 4th printing. The difference between the 22-250 rem and the 22-250 Rem AI for the neck to shoulder dimension is .020 not .004 that clymer talks abaout so if this ids true a no-go gauge would not work!! If I have confused this let me know?
