I ordered a Boyds laminated thumbhole stock for my Savage model 16 and I am very satisfied with the fit and finish of the stock. The stock that I ordered was for the model 10 short action and I ordered the longer screws recommended for wood stocks by Boyds website from Savage. It was a complete drop in with no additional fitting required and I did not need the wood stock screws so I could have save money there. I highly recommend these stock if you are looking for an alternative to the black plastic ones.
