I just purchased this gun for my son. I bought 178gr Amax bullets and Varget powder. Weather is horrible here but going to start shooting some with this combination. I was wondering if anyone has used this combination? From what I have read these bullets like being seated back 0.010-0.015. What would be good starting points for dept and powder? Should I work on powder first then seating dept or vice versa?

Start your load development with the bullets seated .010" off the lands. Do a ladder test with the Varget powder from starting to max load to see which load shoots the best in your rifle. I usually increase each test charge .2 grain. For a sporter weight barrel, use three shot groups.
