Has anyone tried the Long Range Varmint stock with a 112 or 110FP?

I contacted Stockys to see if they knew of any stock other than a DuraMaxx that would work with my 110FP in 25-06.
    They suggested this one:

    http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-332/*NEW!*-Long-Range-Varmint/Detail

I was told to order the "Savage 112 Long Action Blind Mag" as shown near the bottom of the page and that it "should" work for my 110FP.

Does anyone know if it really will fit, or has anyone tried it?
I don't know enough about the similarities and differences of the 110/112 to know if this will work.
I'm not enthused about buying one and finding it is all wrong. I don't mind, however, having to tweak the stock a bit to fit.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

    63 views, no replies. ???

Even if anyone hasn't tried one, can anyone confirm if this should fit?

    Thanks.

Is your rifle a centerfeed or staggered feed?

Long action screw spacing is the same, so, stock will fit either CF or SF.

The 110FP is a staggered feed, blind magazine long action.

So, it appears that it "should" work.

    thanks.

    Yep....it will work.

If the stock is inlet for a CF, no big deal - no changes for you....just bed your action as normal and go.

If your action were a CF and the stock was a SF, then you would have to apply bedding to the well to hold your CF magwell in place. Again, not a big deal.

I converted a staggerfeed B & C Medalist to centerfeed use....just took a little time, but no big deal.

I'd consider a Medalist if they made one with the larger barrel channel. I really don't want to hog out the stock on one of those to fit my fat barrel.

Yes, I was planning on buying the pillar set too as my current plastic stock doesn't have them that I can remove.

The only other option in a stock without spending $400+ is the DuraMaxx which gets "middling" reviews.

another nice stock is the HS Precision , mine should be here tomorrow I bought it from Stocky also, if all these guys say it should work then I would think it will, I don't have any long action guns to compare with, if it is 4,4 spacing and your okay with useing files and maybe a dremel , then do it, few areas you my need to work on like around where the bolt release latch is other then that they are a good fit.

The long action is just above 5 inches, and the HS won't work either.

If it was a short action rifle there would be a few more choices. However, it's not and I'm OK with that.
It shoots incredibly well even with the cheap plastic stock that's on it, so it's not like I need to change just to improve its accuracy. I'm looking to improve it so that I can trust it in the field as much as I can on the bench.

Re: Has anyone tried the Long Range Varmint stock with a 112 or 110FP?

Been reading this thread for a while and here is my question, (sorry if I am hijacking)
    My wants/desires are a matching 223 to my 308.
I have a B&C Medalist (with a Karsten) on my .308 model 12... and I love it, super comfy and fits me just perfect!

I have a long action 110 in .223 that I just picked up for a can't-pass up price!
So I have been looking at the stocks it doesn't seem like to much of a stretch to remove some stock material and re-bed and pillar to make this fine Medalist work.

Has anyone done this and had good or bad results.?
    Thanks

course i could just suck it up and go with the Choate Tactical...

I have one. The front needed some sanding so the heavy barrel would fit. Also the lug area and mag area needed some dremeling so that the screw holes would line up. It's currently at a shop getting bedded I'll post pics when I get it back.
