    116fhsak

I am thinking about getting one,the muzzle break might be nice since i mainly shoot from a bench.
I know it will be loud but how about any body elses likes or dislikes on this gun? it will be in 30-06
    thanks

I can't speak for the 30-06 version of the rifle but the 270 works well and shoots well also. With the brake open it sure does cut down on the recoil but of course the volume is much louder. I like to wear inserts as well as muffs when shooting with the brake.

I've never owned one with a muzzle break, but I've heard from several people that the point of impact changes from open to closed. Just something you may want to consider.

I have one with the brake in 300WM, POI didn't change with brake open or closed, clean or dirty bore (until it was really dirty!) or cold or hot. I shoot the 180 grain mostly, but it shot consistently with 150s and 180s too.

I have been real happy with the way it shoots. The brake is pretty effective, but it is loud. My only complain is that I got a 300wm. A few boxes cures my itch to shoot it for a while.

I read some old posts where the break was sticking open or closed , is there a way to ovoid that.
May be turn it once in a while when shooting?

It can foul with carbon. Mine did when new. I do not clean that much, as it is really not needed, and I subscribe to the theory that it can do more damage than good. It helps justify not doing all that cleaning too.

When the rifle was new, I had fired about five or six boxes of ammo over a coupleof trips to the range, and put away. It was stuck in the open position. I cleaned the rifle, and used a little Break-Free, and I have not had it repeat since, in about ten years.

A drop of bore solvent on the brake (not "break") after every range session has kept my .338 easy to rotate for almost 20 years. Of course like most gun owners I am not too lazy to clean my rifles regularly. True riflemen (Marines) know the value of a clean weapon. ::)

When one is in the business of shooting and being shot at, it is amazing how important regular cleaning and maintenance becomes.
