    Savage Striker Safety Problem

New to the site. Purchased a nice used Striker today in 7mm-08. Looks nice, except I just found out the safety works fine as long as the bolt is removed. When the bolt is installed, the safety cannot move backward into the two safety positions. Can't figure out why. Looks like the safety should move into the bottom of the bolt handle when it is fully retracted. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

safety keep the trigger from moving. when the bolt is put in it moves the trigger. you will have to turn the screw that goes through the trigger and touches the safety.
