Greetings from a new Savage owner in SE Wisconsin

My 20-year-old son and I just became Savage owners for the first time. He got a left-handed 6.5 Axis, I got a 30-06 Axis 2... fir $250- because it was "used" (even though it was new in the box and had never been fired(?).
We actually just got back from the shooting range having sighted in both rifles. Amazing accuracy, at 50 yards we were within a 1 in circle after fully sighted in. My shoulder actually wishes that I had been able to find my gun in a 6.5 Creedmoor. I forgot how much kick a 30-06 has. Lol. Off to buy limbsaver anti recoil pads right now. Welcome. Congrats…to both of you for becoming Savage rifles owners. I have a 24yo son & while I’ve been a Savage fan since I was 18, my son has never wanted one. He’s an AR15 fan… no bolt guns. Which is fine. I to love the AR & introduced him to them when he was young. But then, he’s had me building & working on firearms nearly his entire life and never took to it. He loves shooting, loves owning them. But building them, modifying or repairing them & even maintaining them he wants little to do with. LOL!
