Maximum velocity 300 Savage

Fired some Hornady Superformance 150 gr SST in my recently acquired model 99. Advertised velocity is 2740fps. My reading were 2714fps. For someone who likes velocity these are it.

If you reload and looking for speed for the Model 99, 300 Savage......I've smoked hundreds of
woodchucks with the Sierra 125 SMK's at 3000 fps with AA-4064.

What was your load data? I have some AA-4064 but I haven't seen any published data using it in 300 Savage.

Use the IMR-4064 data and back off !/2 grain and work your way back up. I could
have gone higher then 3000 fps but it shot good there and left it alone. Use at least
a .003 thou neck tension.
