New to Savage and this forum. First purchase!

Hello from the Northeast! I recently purchased my 1^st savage bolt action. It is a 110 Ultralite in 300wsm. It being shipped down from another state/store so I do not have it yet but looking forward to checking this unit out. To be honest is the only reason I picked this particular rifle is I paid less than $900 for it and wanted the Proof Research barrel. I don’t plan on using the OEM stock and I’m currently leaning to placing it into a MDT XRS chassis. Doesn’t need to be ultra-light.

The reason for the 300wsm is I really want to hunt larger game (Elk) in the future. Largest caliber I currently own is 6.5CM in two separate rifles. A cheapo TC compass which is a surprisingly good rifle for the cost and a custom build PRS unit that I put together myself; MDT ACC, Zermatt Arms action, TT Diamond trigger, PVA, M24 barrel (all about 30lbs of rifle).

Looking forward to checking out this community and will be posting up pics when it get the rifle in house.
