    Savage model 12 bolt head

I have a Savage model 12 dual port action. It has a bolt head for my 223 rem chamber. The ejector spring seems to be very strong and all of my brass gets a small dent in it just below the shoulder of the case. I'm looking for some suggestions to correct this problem. Also, can this bolt head be changed to an extractor? Thanks, Jeff new member to forum.

Either clip a coil or two off the spring or pull it and go Single Shot.
Spring can be adjusted so the brass will kinda flop over the side of the port.

Hey Jeff. How is it going bud? I am having trouble with this question..." Also, can this bolt head be changed to an extractor? "

I worked with a fellow about 20 years, he used to say. "The addition or subtraction of just a few facts can clarify or discombobulate even the most educated man.

Do you mind rewording that to help us understand what you are trying to accomplish?
