    RIP Magnum Mike

I doubt many of you know but Mike had 2 strokes on 1/30 and has been in the hospital since. I got an update from his wife yesterday. He is now on life support and is being treated for pneumonia. Once they feel it's cleared up enough that he will be able to breathe on his own they will pull the vent. If he is able to breathe on his own they will move to the next step. If he's not they will make him comfortable and he will pass. He don't want to be re vented.

Very sad news. Let his family know that he'll be missed and his involvement in the SP community over the years is deeply appreciated.

Idk IF there would BE anything CALLED a specialty pistol if it weren’t for mike. His website provided a place for many many people to get it all going and where the term “specialty pistol” came from. He wasa big reason i have as many as i do.

i am saddened. Prayers for his family and thanks for all he did.

Sadly another leaves the range, I did finally talk to him in person once after many messages and a correction or two ( you know what I mean) we had a deal going and talking is always the best way to know someone he was a rather pleasant fellow on the phone

My thoughts are with him and his family, God speed Mike

What a great website it was. I don’t see how there will ever be another like it. I’ve met several good people through there, the politeness and knowledge amongst the members was amazing and though there were a few rough spots in the road along the way, overall it was fantastic. A big thanks to Mike for getting it started.

So sad to hear this news, I was very blessed to be a member of Specialty Pistols' for many years and have met some really great friends through there. Prayers for the family and God speed Mike, you will be missed.

Prayers to the family. I had seen on F B that he had a couple of strokes and passed it was sad news as I told my wife. With Specialty Pistols he created the largest group of handgunners in one place ever. RIP Mike.

Very sad to hear of Mike's passing. He sure did a lot for the community. What I remember the most was being very ill in 2008 with an auto-immune disease which required chemo treatment. Not being able to sleep and having an irregular schedule, I spent a lot of time on chat with Mike, Tigger and Dean - all of whom are now gone. It lifted my spirits and cemented my relationship with the SP community. Prayers for the family to be able to endure Mike's absence.
