    Made a Cerakote oven

Used an old gun cabinet and made me a Cerakote oven, the interior insulation was the most expensive part $90.00 for the Kawool. Setup a PID temp controller running a 1200watt countertop single eye burner mounted in the side.

Nice! Make sure to let us know how it works.

I made one similar, but from scratch. It was a metal shelving unit I cut up & riveted together. Used an SS element meant for an electric Smoker/Grill. Originally a semi M shape that I bent out elongated to heat the length evenly. Covered the Cera-Wool with Aluminum foil as well, thinking it might be needed at the time for better heat. Now I know it’s not needed as I was able to get the inside temp over 500F & still going! Way, WAY more than is needed for Ceracoat, or any other paint/coat curing. Hope yours works as well as mine. Yours is a whole lot prettier than mine is, for sure! LOL! But I think I only spent maybe $100 for everything. Being I already had the sheet metal steel cabinet, a K-Type Thermocouple & Controller and all the tooling.

I here ya! Been keeping track of your projects and I agree it’d be fun. Unfortunately, my heart belongs to the South West. I am in love with the desert. I’ve been to almost every portion of our incredible country and none have been more beautiful to me, than Arizona, New Mexico & some of Texas. Though I’ve enjoyed many other states.

I like desolation; the feeling of being lost to the World. Nothing was more exhilarating to me as when I was driving through New Mexico thinking, “If my car broke down No One is coming for us!” Of course it would not have been the case. But the feeling I had. Then living in Tucson Arizona for 4 years with both of my daughters being born there. And of course the loss of our younger daughter just before she was 2yo. Needless to say, Arizona will forever be a very special place to me. Also, my closest friend living in Benson, AZ. doesn’t hurt, LOL!

But PM me if you want and we can exchange info. I thoroughly enjoy the back & forth of ideas with other professional HOME DIY’ers.
